collections

Jars has been crafting stoneware tableware since 1857. Our factory is located in Anneyron, a small village in Drôme, Southern France. It's there that our collective of around a hundred ceramists gather every day to work with clay, as they have for over 169 years.

Each piece is hand-shaped, in a ballet of confident gestures that are always the same yet never entirely so. Stoneware, a material that sparks ideas, offers us a fabulous playground to express our creativity and that of those we collaborate with.

Inspired, Jars designs diverse collections, exploring different aesthetic worlds, which can be effortlessly combined and mixed on the tables of great chefs as well as in family kitchens.

tourron

Created by Pierre Casenove in 1996, the Tourron collection marked a break with tradition. At a time when tableware was dominated by white, it dared to use color, effect glazes, and vibrant contrasts - all while distinguishing itself through the simplicity of its perfect, graphic, and essential circle.
Tourron quickly became a cult collection: a bold statement, a strong signature, and a playground for lovers of beautiful tables.
Even today, it seduces with its energy, its freedom, and its light. A collection designed to last, be shared, and evolve with you.

• White clay
• Glazed interior and exterior

dashi

True to his habit of surprising us, Pierre Casenove arrived at Jars with a collection of bowls, all different and handcrafted by him. Rather than choosing just one model, we decided to make an entire collection, preserving their unique character.
Thus Dashi was born - a name inspired by Japanese broth, a nod to the primary purpose of these bowls designed for soups, ramen, or rice dishes.
Vibrant and authentic pieces, enhanced by ash glazes or India ink, to which plates and cups have been added, in the same artisanal spirit.

Specifics:
• White clay
• All pieces are unique
• Some crackled glazes: crackled quartz, celadon, soft green, olive green
• Raw exterior of the plates
